For what purposes does Trusted Shops process personal data?

Guarantee services

Trusted Shops collects the data in order to provide you with its guarantee for purchases made in its member online shops (certified by Trusted Shops). By signing for the Trusted Shops Basic Guarantee services, all orders up to a maximum order value of 100€ are covered by it. Registering for the PLUS Guarantee service covers purchases up to an order value of €20,000. After the first purchase, all further purchases in certified online shops made via the same e-mail address are automatically covered.

Review services

After each order, you also have the opportunity to share your experience in the form of a review. By sharing your experience with an online shop, you support other buyers in making a purchase decision. The submitted reviews are publicly visible, but not your personal data. Displaying your first and last name (first letter), and place of residence is only possible if you actively decide to do so, whereby this can be changed by you in the buyer protection account at any time. Submitted reviews are visible for 1 year.  When you make use of the Trusted Shops Guarantee, it may be necessary to collect further data and documents for the processing of the individual case. This could include payment receipts, address data, telephone or mobile phone numbers, and / or correspondence with the online shop.

Review invites

If the buyer has not activated the Guarantee services, Trusted Shops may receive their email address, the order number and order date in order to send them a review invite on behalf of the respective online shop. In this case, a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the online shop and Trusted Shops automatically deletes your data after 90 days.
